Mental Health and me

The story so far…

My journey with mental health has been lengthy.
Now, a mum to 5 and the CEO of Harmless CIC and all it’s associated work, the life I once led, distant in so many ways.

Diagnosed with anorexia and PTSD at 13 I spent many years battling my inner demons, and wrestling with the tension between life and death, self harm and self care.

Using my lived experience of a total lack of competent or compassionate support, I took the horrors I had experienced, some at the hands of the services who were meant to help me and I established a new service. This new service I have worked for since 2009 and now supports thousands of individuals each year. Growing in it‘s size and stature, reputation and reach month in month, year on year. Whilst I remain an active psychotherapist in service, much of my work revolves around strategy, research and policy; on how to drive service improvement by collaboratively working to support change at a Governmental level.

I will do whatever is required of me: public speaking, media interviews, panel contributions.
